TCP 2008 Day of Puppetry

Our Twin Cities Guild observance of the National Day of Puppetry was held a couple weeks later than guild in other parts of the country, to coincide with "Golden Valley Days" being held in the neighborhood of the church. The other main event at Spirit of Hope that Day was a Flea Market.

To sustain us through the several hours of our own event, held on the upper Mezzanine, Claire Uldrich and Brett Debruyn came all the way from Iowa and brought refreshments, upon which we could graze throughout the morning and early afternoon.

	Following long-established tradition, Wayne Krefting served as our Master of Ceremonies and we had shows by six TCP puppeteers.

MAKE AND TAKE SOCK PUPPET WORKSHOP	Many of the audience members, including small kids, stayed for all six shows and then stayed even longer to build a quick and simple sock puppet. At left, Steve Mark demonstrates before the kids dive in and sample all the materials that several of our TCP members had pulled together and donated for this event. Kids received all the help and guidance they needed, and every one of them was able to build and take home their own individual puppet. We hope that each of them spent the next week telling their friends "The Twin Cities Puppeteers ROCK!!!" But who can say.
