Andy Hayward put together this exhibit of puppets, where everyone could have a look as they entered the lower level..
To the right, Bill Garrison with Tom Davis, operating Major Murphy, who greeting people as they entered the church.
Diane Rains offered a hands on workshop in which kids and their parents could make a shadow puppet.
Kurt and Kathy Hunter did the same with a simple marionette design.
Jean McCarthy demonstrated how you can make puppets out of many, many things.
This was the workshop that might have been. Wayne Krefting put together a "What is a Puppet" overview presentation, complete with puppets and video clips, and Paul Eide was supposed to be his assistant. Actually everyone went to the workshops downstairs, but Andy and Karen showed up to help stage a picture.
In Karen Backes' workshop, the participants could make cloth bunny puppets.
Laura Krentz' workshop demonstrated how to use puppets in storytelling.
This is Tom Davis and Bil DeLong with the sign they built for one of the meeting rooms in the church--part of our thanks to Spirit of Hope for allowing us to use the church for our meetings.
And then the performances: Above, Becky Brom keeps these two kids in giggles. To the right, Kurt Hunter with his puppet of Bob Kramer, and Bob's puppet, Charley.
Rene Daffer performed the marionette show she inherited from her parents, John and Shirley Daffer, who in turn had inherited the show from Shirley's aunt, Mildred Mitton.

There were other shows and demos integrated with these performances. Brenda Noyed and her church troupe had done a performance workshop in the sanctuary upstairs.

Finally, below is the whole group who worked on the event--all the members of the TCP plus Brenda's troupe. We seem to be missing Bill and Edna Garrison, who managed all the refreshments.
