June 3, 2000: Twin Cities Puppeteers participate in Scout Fair

Return to Meetinglinks Page
The Scout Fair (June 3, 2000) that you've been hearing about for months, was a great success, with warm sunny weather.

Hundreds of Scout tents were seen all around the area near the Education and 4-H Buildings.

Tom Davis opened our TCP Booth at 9:00 AM, and strolled with his marionette. Tom O'Lenick strolled with his magic and took pictures. Wayne Krefting and Kurt Hunter performed shows on stage. Members took turns at the TCP Booth.

The afternoon members included Becky Brom and David Sleeper performing shows on stage.

The Booth was next to a table where Brenda Noyed and daughter Emily sold puppets made from stuffed animals.

We were happy to see Rene Malmberg who came to help at the Booth. Three more tables were used for the puppet making workshop which started at

1:00 PM, and continued right up to 4:00 PM. We were a colorful sight, and I took pictures. The kids just kept coming and making puppets, with the styrofoam balls, fabric, and an assortment of items.

The workshop helpers included Brenda Noyed, her daughter Emily, Jeanne Radke, Kayte Norini, myself, and my daughter Darla who showed everyone her new engagement ring.

I collected the check that was made out to our Guild, and will send a check next week, to each member who came out to the Fair. One of the Officials said that the TCP will be invited to their next event!

Thanks to you all! Sincerely, Karen Backes
